Eligibility Criteria for the Dalhousie University Presidential Scholarship

Conditions for Scholarships

You must: in order to be eligible for the scholarship award.

  • Be enrolled at Dalhousie University as a Ph.D student and have been awarded a full doctoral grant from one of the following financial sources:
    • NSERC (PGSD, CGSD, Vanier CGS)
    • SSHRC (Doctoral, CGSD, Vanier CGS)
    • CIHR (Doctoral, CGSD, Vanier CGS)
    • Killam (Doctoral) – these offers are automatic when you apply for the doctoral program.
  • Being enrolled full-time for the first four years of your program.
  • No other scholarship, government grant, or organization will pay for your tuition.

Method for Making Application

  • You don’t need to apply. You will be automatically considered for one of the President’s Awards if you meet the prerequisites outlined above.
  • Following your admission, the Faculty of Graduate Studies will let you and your department know if you have been chosen for an award. For the duration of the award, the reward will be validated and deducted from your tuition each term.
